RESOLUTION NO. 96-589
A RESOLUTION ADOPTING COLLIER COUNTY
STREETS CAPE MASTER PLAN
WHEREAS,
the: Board of County Commissioners of Collier
County, Florida I has pursued the development of a streetscapE:
master plan for the major public rights-at-way in the urban arec',
of Collier Cour.ty in partnership with collier/Naplescape ' 90s;
and
WHEREAS, the Board received and reviewed a submission of the
Collier County Streetscape Master Plan at its public meeting of
December 17, 1996; and
WHEREAS, said Master Plan may be cons.idered a type of
overlay design document for the urban area of Collier County,
providing a plan fer consistency throughout the County landscape
in
major
public
rights-of-way,
County
including
program
guidelines and a plant list that relates to the native character
of the community; a.nd
WHEREAS, the lanrtscape plan is xexiphytic in nature in terms
of reducing requirements for irrigation and maintenance for
p~blic rights-at-way landscape requirements; and
WHEREAS, on December 17, 1996, the Board directed the
preparation of this resolution adopting the attached, revised
StreetscaI)e Master Plan a8 the streetscape master plan for
Collier County, incorporating it by reference into the Collier
County Land Development Code and Comprehensive Plan atter (staff)
meetings with the appropriate MSTUs; and
WHEREAS, the Community Development Services Division shall
be the review agency for all proposed new capital and maintenance
revisions to existing landscape for roadway landscapes within the
Streetacape Network. as defined in the Streetscape Master Plan.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that,
1. The Board accepts and adopts the attached Streetscape
Master Plan with intention to implement same based upon elements
of annual budget, funding sources and annual project review.
2. The Board directs the County staff to prepare the
appropriate amendments to incorporate said Plan into the Collier
County Land Development Code (LDC) during the next amendment
cycle, and for Community Development Services Division staff t,)
administer said Plan to the extent possible for all project
applications
occurring
within
the
Streetscape
Network
as
identified in the Streetscape Master Plan (SSMP), until such tim~
as the SSMP is adopted by reference into the LDC.
3. The Board directs the County Btaf f to prepare thl~
appropriate
amendment(s)
to
appropriately
reference

incorporate said Plan into the Collier County Comprehensive Plan.
This ReBolution adopted this 17~h day of December, 1991;
after motion, second and unanimous vote favoring same,
