RESOLUTION APPOINTING AND AOTBORIZING THB NATURAL
RESOURCES DEPARTMENT DIRECTOR TO APPLY FOR AND
ADMINISTER THE GRANT WITH THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT
OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION, DIVISION OF LAW
ENFORCEMENT, SPECIAL WATERWAY PROJECTS PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, the Collier county Manatee Protection Plan has
named, and the state of Florida has designated certain
unmarked heavily traveled waterways as "30 MPH in channel,
Slow speed outside of channel"; and
WHEREAS, posting channels in these waterways will
alleviate unnecessary delays to the boating public by
allowing them to travel at speed; and
WHEREAS, Collier County qualifies as a county for
Financial Need under the Special Waterway Projects Program;
and
I,
WHEREAS, grant funds are available through the Special
Waterway Projects Program to post navigational channels.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THB BOARD OF COUNTY
COKKISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the Natural
Resources Department Director is hereby appointed and
authorized to apply for and administer the grant with the
Florida Department of Environmental Protection, Division of
Law Enforcement, Special waterway Projects Program on behalf
of Collier County.
This Resolution adopted this ~ day of O~ ,
1996, after motion, second and majority vote.
