RESOLUTION NO. 96- ----4l.3
AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION TO EXTEND TilE
TERMS OF MEMBERS OF TilE COLLIER COUNTY
PLANNING COMMISSION TO NOVEMBER I, 1996.
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 91-102, as amended, provides that the Collier County Planning
Commission shall be composed of nine (9) members representing the five commission districts;
and
WHEREAS, the term! of three (3) members will expire on October I, 1996, creating
vacancies on this board; and
WHEREAS, for purposes of appointment and reappointment, applications will need to be
received by interested persons who are eligible for such appointment; and
WHEREAS, the Collier County Land Development Code Amendment process will require
multiple meetings of the Planning Commission and there may arise scheduling and/or other
conflicts which could prevent some of the remaining six (6) members, whose terms are not
expiring, from attending the scheduled meetings. thereby causing a lack of a quorum; and

WHEREAS, the terms of said members will need to be extended for a period of one month in
order to meet the requirements of establishing a quorum during the Collier County Planning
Commission meetings scheduled during the month of October, 1996;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that:
I. The Board of County Commissioners hereby declares that a valid public emergency exists
with regard to the potential lack of a quorum for meetings of the Collier County Planning
Commission during the period of October 1,1996 through November I, 1996.
2. The extension of the terms of the below listed Planning Commission members is necessary
to ensure a quorum for the meetings of the Collier County Planning Commission during said
period.
3. The terms of the following members are hereby extended for a period of one month; said
telms to expire on November 1, 1996.
Russell A. Priddy - Commission District 5
Michael J. Bruet - Commission District 2
Donald 1. York - Commission District 2
