A RESOLUTION OF TilE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY
A UTIIORIZING TilE COUNTY MANAGER TO
APPLY FOR A SINGLE, PIIASED, UNIFIED
IIIGIIWAY BEAUTIFICATION GRANT FROM TilE
FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION
FOR MEDIAN LANDSCAPING OF DAVIS
BOULEVARD FROM U, S, 41 EASTWARD TO ONE-
IIALF MILE EAST OF COUNTY BARN ROAD.
WHEREAS, the median strips within the Department of Transportation,
State Road 84 (Davis Boulevard). are in need of and capable of receiving and
sustaining landscape beautification features; and,
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners desires that Collier
County participate in the beautification of this highway's median strips from
U. S. 41 to one-half mile east of County Barn Road by means of landscape
development; and,
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners intends, by the adoption

of this Resolution, to authorize the County Administrator to apply for a Highway
Beautification Grant from the Florida Department of Transportation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that:
Section I. The Board of County Commissioners hereby authorizes the
County Administrator to apply for a Single, Phased, Unified, Highway
Beautification Grant, thereby requesting a $150,000 grant in the first phase, from
the Florida Department of Transportation, pertaining to the median strips along a
portion of S. R. 84 (Davis Boulevard) from U. S. 41 eastward to one-half mile
ea5t of County Barn Road
Section 2. The Clerk to the Board of County Commissioner is hereby
directed to forward a certified copy of this Resolution to the Florida Department
of Transportation as part of the Highway Beautification Grant application
package.
Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
