Resolution 1999-459RESOLUTION No. 99 - 4 5 9 RESOLUTION OF TIlE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, ADOPED PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 89-449, LAWS OF FLORIDA, AS AMENDED, TO AUTIIORIZE THE PRESENCE OF DOGS WITHIN DESIGNATED PARK AREAS IN VETERANS PARK FOR SPECIFIC, LIMITED PURPOSES. WHEREAS, on October 26'h, 1974, the Board of County Commissioners adopted Collier County Ordinance No. 76-48, which contains the County's Park Rule and Regulations; and WtlEREAS, on January 27, 1981, tile Board amended Ordinance No. 76-48 by enactment o f Ordinance No. 8 I-3; and WItEREAS, on January 23, 1990, tile Board further amended Ordinance No. 76- 48 by enactment of Ordinance No. 90-9; antl WIt ER EAS, Chapter 89-449, Laws of Florida, has this year been amended by tim Florida Legislature to authorize the Board of County Commissioners, by Resolution, to amend the F'arks' Rules and Regulations in many respects, including allowing additional presence of dogs in one, some or all of the County's Parks; and WI IEREAS, dogs are presently allowed in Collier County Parks only during dog related special events, Park Ranger patrols, as mandated by "The Americans' with Disabilities Act." and law enforcement actMties; and WtIEREAS, as specified on thc attached proposed amendment to tile Rt, les and Regulations for Collier County Parks, Staffis recommending to the Board that tile County establish a designated geographic area within Veterans Park for specified additional activities related to domeslicated dogs under control of an owner, guardian, or handler; and WItEREAS, tile Board of County Commissioners accepts StafCs recommendations lo amend the Rules as specified regarding Veterans Park. NOW, TI tEREFOP. E, BE IT RESOLVED BY TIlE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS: that the Rule Amendments attached hereto as Exhibit "A" are hereby adopled effective immediately, which amcndmenls supcrcedc any other Rules or Regulations to the extent ofconflict with these amendments.
