A RESOLlTrION AIJI'HORlZ1NG THE PROPEll OFFICIALS OF THE COUNTY AND
STATE TO CANCEL TIlE TAX LIEN CEllTIFICATES HELD BY COLLIEll COUNTY
ON PROPEllTIES OWNED BY TIlE UNITED STATES GOVE1lNM1lNT AND LOCATED
WITHIN THE BIG CYPRESS PRESERVE PURSUANT TO SECTION 196.28, FLORIDA
ST A lUI'ES.
WHEREAS. Section 196.2S. Florida Statutes, authorizes the Board of County Commission...
of each county of the state to cancel and diaclwse any and a1ll1ena for taxes, delinquent or curren~
held or owned by the county or the state, upon landa conveyed to, or acquired by anyasency,
sovernmental subdivision or municipality of the state, or the 'Jnlted States. for road purpose.. defense
purposes, recreation. reforestation or other public uae.
WHEREAS, the United States of America hu acquired certain lands within Collier County for
the Big Cyp.... Preserve; and
WHEREAS, Collier County holdl tax certiflcates on certain parcell orland within the Big
Cyp.... Preserve; and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners recognizes thatlhe Tax Certificates held by
Collier County on Janda owned by the United Stales of America and located within the Big Cypress
Preserve should be canceled.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLUER COUNTY, FLORIDA. that:
I) Pursuant to the authority of Section 196.2S, Florida Statute.. the Tax Certificates attached
hereto and incorporated herein which are held in the name of Collier County u a tax lien on the
properties owned by the United Stales of America and located within the Bil Cyp.... Preserve shall be
canceled.
2) Upon receipt ofa certified copy ofthil Resolution with the attached Tax Certificales the
County Tax Collector and the Stale of Florida, Depar1ment of Revenue, are hereby IUthorized,
empowered and directed to make proper entries upon the records to accomplish luch cancellation and
to do all things necessary to carry out the provilions of Section 196.2S, Florida Statutes.
