RESOLUTION NO. 96-~9
A RESOLUTION APPOINTING OR REAPPOINTING MEMBERS FOR THE
IMMOKALEE ENTERPRISE ZONE OEVELOPMENT AGENCY (EZOA)
RESPONSIBLE FOR DEVELOPING AND ADMINISTERING THE STRATEGIC
PLAN FOR THE IMMOKALEE ENTERPRISE ZONE.
WHEREAS. the Stale Government has enacted a program, the Florida Enterprise Zone
Program, 10 Induce prival~1 investment inla distressed areas to cresle economIc opportunities
and sustainable economic development and
WHEREAS. the l::SoarcJ of County Commissioner of Collier County has nominated the
Immokalee Community 10 be considered by the Florida Department of Commerce for Enterprise
Zone designation; and
WHEREAS. a broad base of citizen participation has been established as part of the
effort 10 apply for the Federal Government Empowermenl Zone/Enterprise Community
designation and has been extended inlo Ihis a~plicalion 10 oblain a Slale Enterprise Zone
designation; and
WHEREAS, lhe ImmoJr,alee Enterprise Zone Development Agency (EZDA) was created
by County Ordinance No, 95.22: and
WHEREAS, County R€'30lution No, 95-249 appointed members to the EZDA; and
WHEREAS, the EZDA must have representation from the Chamber of Commerce.
Financial or Insurance entities, Businesses operating wilhin the Nominated Area, Residents living
within the Nominated Ar'!a. Nonprofit community-based organizations operating within the
Nominated Area, Local pri late industry council, Local code enforcement agency, and Local law
enforcement agency; and
WHEREAS, the term of one member has expired and the Board desires to reappoint the
member; and
WHEREAS, two memb~rs have requested to be removed from the EZDA; and
NOW. THEREFORE. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY. FLORIDA. lhat:
The following individuals are hereby appointed or reappointed to the Immokalee
Enterprise Zone Development Agency. The appointment of these members is in accordance
wilh Section 290.0056 (1) thrOl/~lh 290,0056(8), Florida Stall/tes.
