RESOLUTION EXPRESSING THE BOARD'S INTENTIONS
REGARDING FUTURE USE OF THE COUNTY'S
CAXAMBAS PARK BOAT LAUNCHING FACILITY;
AUTHORIZING STAFF TO PROCESS AND EXECUTE
NECESSARY APPLICATIONS WITH SUPPORTING
INFORMATION TO APPLY FOR GRANT MONEYS THAT
MAY BE AVAILABLE FROM THE FLORIDA
DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION
FOR CONSTRUCTION OF IMPROVEMENTS TO
CAXAMBAS PARK BOAT LAUNCHING FACILITY; AND
TO EXECUTE THE RELATED GRANT AGREEMENTS
WHEREAS, the County of Collier was originally incorporated by the State of Florida on
July 7,1923, and has since grown to it. present population of approximately 180,540 re.ident.;
and
WHEREAS, Collier County i. hard pressed to meet the ClIpen... involved in park
development and improvement. for its ClIpanding resident and vi.iting population, and i. therefore
anxious to seek financial assistance in the development and improvement of its Caxambas Park
Public Boat Launch Facility; and
WHEREAS. the Department of Environmental Protection. Division of Recreation and
Parks, pro,ides grant moneys under the State administered Florida Boating Improvement
Program for local governments quati1)ing for said assistance for boating improvement project.;
and
WHEREAS, it will benefit resident. of and visitors to Collier County for the County to
acquire the subject grant moneys to construct improvements to the Collier County Caxambas
Park Public Boat Launch Facility.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that:
Section I. If the State finds that Collier County i. eligible for assistance under the Florida
Boating Improvement Program, Collier County will continue to make the improved Caxarnbas
Park Boat Launch Facility available to the general public without regard 10 race, creed, gender,
color, national origin, or location of user'. residence.
Section 2. Collier County stalfis hereby authorized and directed to ClIecute and proce..
any and all applications and such other supporting materials as may be required to process the
subject applicationand, except as may be required to be executed by the Chairman of the Board
of County Commissioners, to enter into and execute grant agreements to secure the subject grant
fund. for the County's Caxarnbas Park Public Boat Launch Facility.
