A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PROPOSED GROWTH
Ml\NAGEMENT PLl\N AMENDMENT! S) FOR TRl\NSMITTAL TO THE
DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY AFFAIRS
WHEREAS, the Local Government Comprehensive Planninq and
Land Development Regulation Act of 1985 (Section 163.3161 et seq..
Florida Statutes (1987)) and Chapter 9J-ll, Florida Administrative
code, Minimum Criteria for Review of Local Government Comprehensive
Plans and Determination of Compliance requires that in the event a
local government considers and adopts plan amendments that such
local government submit Growth Management Plan Amendment(s); &nd
WHEREAS, Collier County has prepared Plan Amendments to
the following elements of its Growth Management Plan:
Future Land Use:
Traffic Circulation;
Capital Improvements;
Recreation and Open Space; and
General Requirements
and has held public hearings to provide for and encouraqe public
participation throughout the plan amendment preparation procellJ and
WHEREAS, the Collier County Planninq Commission has
considered the proposed amendments to the Growth Manaqement Plan and
has recommended approval of said Plan amendments to the Board of
County Commissioners~ and
WHEREAS, Collier County must submit the proposed Plan
Amendments to the Department of Community Affairs for preliminary
review by August 1, 19891 and
WHER.E.\S, upon receipt of Collier County'. proposed Growth
Management Plan Amendments the Department of Community Affairs has
ninety (901 days to review the proposed Amendment(s) and must
transmit, in writlnq to Collier County, its comments alonq with any
Objections and any recommendations for modification, within said
ninety (90) days I and
WHEREAS, Collier County, upon receipt of written comments
from the Department of community Affairs, must adopt or adopt with
chanqes the proposed Growth Management Plan Amendments within
sixty (60) days of such receipt; and

. WHEREAS, the Department of Community Affairs, within
forty-five (45) days of receipt of Collier County's adopted Growth
Manaqement Plan Amendment{sl, must review and determine if the plan
Amendment(s) are in compliance with the Local Government
Comprehen.ive Planninq and Land Development Act of 19851 State
Comprehensive Plani the appropriate Reqional Policy Plan and Rule
9J-5, Florida Administrative Code, pursuant to Sub-Section
163.3184(lJ!b) Florida Statutes (1987).
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLCRIDA that the Board hereby
approves the proposed Growth Manaqement Plan Amendment!s) for the
purpose of transmittal to the Department of community Affairs
thereby initiatinq the required St.te evaluation of the Growth
Manaqement Plan Amendment(s) prior to final adoption and State
determination of compliance with the Local Government Comprehensive
Planning and Land Development Regulation Act of 1985 and Rule 9J-5,
Florida Administrative Code, Mintmum Criteria for Review of Local
Government Comprehensive Plans and Determination of Compliance.
