Resolution 1997-089 RESOLUTION NO. 97--M.. A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE EXPENDI11JRE OF COUNTY FUNDS, FOR SPECIFIC EXPENDI11JRES TO BE INCURRED AT THE OPEN HOUSE FOR THE 25TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT, AS SERVING A VALID PUBLIC PURPOSE. WHEREAS, Collier County Ordinance No. 87-5 alloWl for the expenditure of County funds to effectuate the purpoSCS Df the Ordinance provided that said expenditures are approved by the Board through an ilnplementing resolution setting forth the specific purpoSCS of the expenditures; and WHEREAS, on February If, 1997, the Collier County Board of County Commissioners approved, as part of its public meeting agenda, an Open House for the 25th Anniversary of the ParIca and Recreation Department; and WHEREAS, the Collier County Board of County Commissioners hereby also seeks to approve the specific expenditures for refreshments to be served to the public at the Open House; and WHEREAS, the Collier County Clerk of Courts office has conferred with the County Attorney's office regarding the need for clarification about the specific expenditures which the Board of County Commissioners intendS to approve u , Iel'ving a valid public purpose, even if the expenditures are not covered by the exact expenditure categorics set forth in Collier County Ordinance No. 87-5. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that: I. The expenditures in the amount not to exceed $700.00 for the Collier County Open House for the 25th Anniversary of the County ParIca and Rccn:ation Department, are hereby found by the Board to serve a valid public purpose and are a1JO hereby approved. The specific expenditures hereby approved are: Expenditures for refreshments to be provided to the public including: Snow concs, syrup and machines to prepare and serve refreshmcnta and 80ft drinks 2. The Board of County Commissioners hereby authorizes the disbunement ofS700.00 to pay for said expenditures.
