A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNTY COMMISSION OF
COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE
COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR TO ENTER INTO A
LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE MEMORANDUM OF
AGREEMENT AND HIGHWAY BEAUTIFICATION GRANT
MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT WITH THE FLORIDA
DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR THE
INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE OF LANDSCAPING
AND IRRIGATION LOCATED ON A PORTION OF STATE
HIGHWAY 29 (ALSO KNOWN AS "MAIN STREEr),
BETWEEN 9™ STREET AND 181 STREET, WITHIN THE
UNINCORPORATED COMMUNITY OF IMMOKALEE,
SITUATED IN COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA
WHEREAS, many roadside areas and median strips within the Department of
Transportation, Stale Road 29 right-of-way are capable of receiving and sustaining
landscape beautification features; and
WHEREAS, the County Administrator and the Board of County Commissioners
desire that Collier County participate in the beautification of this highway's roadside areas
and median strips within the unincorporated community of Immokalee, situated in Collier
County, Florida, through landscape de'~eiopment; and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners intends, by the adoption of this
Resolution, to authorize the County Administrator to enter into a Highway Landscape
Maintenance Memorandum of Agreement and a Highway' Beautificetion Grant
,
Memorandum of Agreement between Collier County, Florida, and the Florida Department
of Transportation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE B6ARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. The Board of County Commissioners of Collier County, Florida, hereby
authorize the County Administrator to enter into a Highway Landscape Maintenance
memorandum of Agreement and Highway Beautification Grant Memorandum of Agreement
between the Florida Department of Transportation, pertaining to the road aide areas and
median strips along a .502 mile section of State Road 29 (also known as "Main Slreer),
between 9" Street and 1- Street, within the unincorporated community of Immokalee,
situated in Collier County, Florida.
SECTION 2. The County Clerk of Collier County, Florida, is hereby directed to forward
twelve (12) certified copies of this Resolution to the Florida Department of Transportation,
Bartow, Florida, as a result of having been awarded and accepted a Highway
