RESOLUTION NO. 89-104
A RESOLUTION APPROVING A ROBXRT WOOD
JOHNSON FOUNDATION GRANT REQUEST AND
APPROVING A LETTER OF INTENT TO
COORDINATE A COUNTY-WIDE APPROACH
TO THE ILLEGAL DRUG AND ALCOHOL PROBLEMS
WHEREAS, Collier County, Florida, is one of the fastest
;rowin; areas in the country and absorbs an enormou~ seasonal
influx of part-time residents, tourists and mi;rants, and
WHEREAS, efforts to combat dru; and alcohol pI'oblems within
Collier County have been fra;mented with inndequate ~~ordination
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Collier
County, Florida, declares it to be in the best interest of the
citizens of Collier County to request a ;rant from the Robert
Wood Johnson Foundation to coordinate a cou~ty-wide approach to
ille;al dru; and alcohol related problems.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the Letter of
Intent, attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and incorporated herein, is
hereby approved for the purpose of requestin; and applyin; for a
;rant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
This Resolution adopted after motion, second and majority
vote.
