RESOLUTION 89- 1n?
A RESOLUTION BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA,
SUPPORTING SENATE BILL 467, RELATING TO
CONSTRUCTION CONTRACTING' AUTHORIZING GENERAL
CONTRACTORS TO ENTER INTO DESIGN-BUILD
CONTRACTS WITH GOVERNMENTAL AGENCIES UNDER
CERTAIN CONDITIONS
WHEREAS, Collier County, through its recently adopted
Growth Management Plan, has planned over $240,000,000 in
capital improvements over the next five year~1 and
WHEREAS, the Growth Management plan require. that
capital facilities be in place concurrent ~ith the issuance
of development orders I and
nntered into and
WHEREAS,
the county
recently
completed a contract for a 40,000 square foot building under a
design-build conceptI and
WHEREAS, at completion the project was completed four
months ahead of schedule, and at 96' of the total budget I and
WHEREAS, design-build contracts could continue to save
Collier County substantial time and expense on future capital
projectsI and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COLLIER COUNTY
BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS, THAT COLLIER COUNTY GOVERNMENT
SUPPORTS THE PASSAGE OF SENATE BILL 467.
