RESOLUTION NO. 89- 48
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACQUISITION OF THE
NECESSARY RIGHT-OF-WAY FOR THE FOUR-LANING OF
IMMOKAUEE ROAD (C.R. 846) FROM U.S. 41 TO
C.R. 951.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Collisr county's comprehensive plan and
Secondary Road Program, Immokalee Road (C.R. 846) between U.S. 41
and C.R. 951 requires expansion to a minimum of four lanes; and
WHEREAS, the expansion of Immokalee Road (C.R. 946) requires a
minimum of fifty (50) feet of additional road right~of-way: and
WHEREAS, there is an immediate need to acquire the additional
right-of-way for the Immokalee Road (C.R. 84(,) four-lane expansion
within a period of approximatelY nine (9) months commencing March,
19B9: and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY 'lllE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that:
1. It is hereby determined that four-laning improvements of
Immokalee Road (C.R. 846) from U.S. 41 to C.R. 951 are necessary and
in the best interest of Collier County.
2. The county staff is hereby authorized to acquire the
additional right-of-way by gift or purchase by easement or fee
simple title, to be used by Collier County for the construction and
maintenance of roadways, drainage facilities, roadbeds, utility
facilities, and drainage ditchss for roadway improvements.
3. The preliminary right-of-way map attached hereto as Exhibit,
"A" and incorporated herein, is approved for the acquisition of the
additional
right-of-way needed to achieve the four-laning ct-
Immokalee Road (C.R. 846) from U.S. 41 to C.R. 951.
This Resolution adopted after motion, second and majority vote.
