RESOLUTION NO. 89- 14
RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE INTERNAL IMPROVEMENT TRUST FUND TO
ESTABLISH AN EROSION CONTROL LINE ON MARCO
ISLAND.
WHEREAS, it has been established by surveys that there is a
serious shoreline erosion problem on Marco Island; and
. WHEREAS, it has been deemed to be in the public interest to
preserve, maintain and restore wherever possible, the recreational,
storm protection, environmental and native hatitat and economic
benefits; and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners has authorized
Coastal Engineering Consultants, Inc. to prepare final design plans
and specifications and obtain permits to accomplish restoration of
the shoreline; and
WHEREAS, the establishment and platting of an Erosion Control
Line is a necessary part of the final design process.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA THAT: The County requests
the Board of Trustees of the Internal Improvement Trust Fund to
establish an Erosion Control Line on Marco Island as described by
the mean high water survey performed by Coastal Engineering
Consultants, Inc. on June 15, 1988 and July 18. 1988.
This Resolution adopted after motion, second and roll call
vote as follows:
