A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, APPOINTING ERIC KELLY AND
REAPPOINTING JOSHUA FRUTH AND REBECCA GIBSON-LAEMEL TO
THE PARKS AND RECREATION ADVISORY BOARD.
WHEREAS, Collier County Ordinance No. 93-81 established the Parks and Recreation Advisory
Board to advise the Board of County Commissioners on matters pertaining to the acquisition,
development and programs involving County park facilities; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance 93-81, as subsequently amended, provides that this Advisory Board shall
be composed of seven members, consisting of one member from the Immokalee Community Park District
and six members from the Naples and Urban Area Community Park District; and
WHEREAS, there are two seats on this Advisory Board seats expiring on December 31, 2023,
and one additional vacancy; and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners previously provided public notice soliciting
applications from interested parties; and
WHEREAS, staff and the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board have provided the Board of
County Commissioners with their recommendations for appointment and reappointment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that JOSHUA FRUTH and REBECCA GIBSON-LAEMEL,
representing the Naples and Urban Area Community Park District, are each hereby reappointed to their
seats on the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, to four-year terms expiring on December 31, 2027,
and that ERIC KELLY, representing the Naples and Urban Area Community Park District, is hereby
appointed to fill the remainder of a vacant term expiring on December 31, 2025; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that term limit restrictions are hereby waived as to REBECCA
GIBSON-LAEMEL for the term of this reappointment.
THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED upon majority vote on the 23'day of January, 2024.
