RESOLUTION NO. 2007-301
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, TO CONFIRM THE
APPOINTMENT OF LT. GEORGE WELCH TO THE COLLIER
COUNTY CITIZENS CORPS.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners, on November 5, 2002, adopted
Collier County Ordinance No. 2002-56 which created the Collier County Citizens Corps;
and
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 2002-56 provides that the Collier County Citizens Corps
(Committee) shall be composed of eleven (11) voting members representing
Neighborhood Watch, Community Emergency Response Team, Collier County Fire
Chiefs Association, Civil Air Patrol, Coast Guard Auxiliary, American Red Cross, Salvation
Army, Retired Senior Volunteer Program, Collier County Veterans Council, and Collier
County Business Industry; and
WHEREAS, there is currently a vacancy on this Committee for a Sheriff's office
representative; and
WHEREAS, Sheriff Don Hunter has provided the Board of County Commissioners
with a letter of recommendation for the appointment of Lt. George Welch to this
Committee.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that Lt. George Welch of the Collier
County Sheriff's Office is hereby confirmed and appointed to the Collier County Citizens
Corps to fulfill the remainder of the vacant term, said term to expire on November 5,
2009.
This Resolution adopted after motion, second and majority vote.
