Backup Documents 11/09/2021 Item # 4B 48 PROCLAMATION WHEREAS, Neighborhood Health Clinic (Clinic) opened in April 1999, with a mission to deliver quality medical and dental care to low-income, working but uninsured Collier County adults ages 19-64, using a professional volunteer staff and funded by private philanthropy; and WHEREAS, in 2020, Clinic services were delivered by an army of professional volunteers, including 250 local physicians, 100 nurses, 50 dentists, and more than 300 non- medical assistants, who, last year alone, attended to more than 11,000 patient visits, performed more than 27,000 procedures, and issued nearly 20,000 prescriptions; and WHEREAS, the Clinic is continually recognized with the highest level of achievement by leading industry watchdogs for being fiscally responsible with the philanthropy received; and WHEREAS, the Clinic's 2019 addition of the Armstrong Medical Building provides expanded facilities for vecialty services, such as radiology, cardiology, ENT, gynecology, wound care, vision care, with a state-of-the-art dental suite; and WHEREAS, newly completed in 2021, the Van Domelen Education and Wellness Building is designed to be the center of Healthy Lifestyles programs, including Diabetic Education, Breast Health, Pain Management, Stress Management, and Smoking Cessation classes; and WHEREAS, the Clinic is a fully committed, community resource with a newly expanded campus delivering comprehensive, quality medical and dental care to neighbors in need who have no alternative resources; NOW THEREFORE, be it proclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of Collier County, Florida, that November 2021 be designated as NEIGHBORHOOD HEALTH CLINIC RECOGNITION MONTH IN COLLIER COUNTY DONE AND ORDERED THIS 9th Day of November 2021.
