PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, October is National Manufacturing Month and serves as an
effective way to highlight the importance of the manufacturing
sector in our nation's economy and to draw attention to the many
rewarding, high-skilled, high-paying manufacturing careers
available within our local community; and
WHEREAS, the Southwest Regional Manufacturers Association of Florida
(SRMA) is representing nearly 350 manufacturing facilities in
Collier County, producing a diverse array of products, providing
employment for approximately 5,000 citizens at an average
annual wage of $60,000. The SRMA works with our educators
to increase awareness of these career opportunities and supports
school programs that provide the educational pathways to obtain
them; and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners commends and supports this
important cause and the organizations involved;
NOW THEREFORE, be it proclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of
Collier County, Florida, that October 2021 be designated as
MANUFACTURING MONTH
IN COLLIER COUNTY
DONE AND ORDERED THIS 14TH Day of September, 2021.
