RESOLUTION NO. 2007- 161
A RESOLUTION BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS, COLLIER
COUNTY, FLORIDA, TO AMEND AN INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN
THE CITY OF NAPLES AND COLLIER COUNTY REGARDING MAINTENANCE
ASSISTANCE FOR THE TRAFFIC SIGNAL SYSTEM ON GOODLETTE-FRANK
ROAD BETWEEN U.S. 41 AND GOLDEN GATE PARKWAY
WHEREAS, on or about November 7, 1989, Collier County, a political subdivision of the State of
Florida (the "County") and the City of Naples, a municipal corporation (the "City"), entered into an
Interlocal Agreement (the "Agreement") designating the rights and responsibilities for maintenance,
repair, and operation of traffic signals for the traffic signal system on Goodlette-Frank Road between U.S.
41 and Golden Gate Parkway; and
WHEREAS, the Agreement provides that the County is responsible for all maintenance and repair
of the traffic signals and the City is responsible solely for the operation and timing of the traffic signals;
and
WHEREAS, the Agreement provides that either party may terminate the Agreement upon giving
thirty (30) calendar days advance written notice to withdraw from the Agreement; and
WHEREAS, the County desires to amend the Agreement with the intent to re-assume operation and
timing of the traffic signals on and near Golden Gate Parkway and to provide the City a more active role
in the operation, maintenance, and repair of four of the traffic signals on the southern end of Goodlette-
Frank Road (CR 851), specifically the intersections at 3cd Avenue South, Central Avenue, 5th Avenue
North and 7'h Avenue; and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Collier County, Florida finds that it is in the
public interest to amend the existing Interlocal Agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of County Commissioners of Collier County,
Florida, that:
1. The Board of County Commissioners approves the Amendment of the Agreement and
authorizes the Chairman to sign and execute the Amendment on behalf of the County.
