PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, the Collier County Recycling Ordinance Number 2009-56, established the Waste
Reduction Awards Program (the WRAP award); and
WHEREAS, the WRAP award recognizes businesses, institutions, and multi-family residences
for enhanced and innovative recycling programs; and
WHEREAS, Crystal Lake RV Resort contributes to the greater good of Collier County by
advocating the "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle" message, thereby helping to prolong the
usable life of the Collier County Landfill; and
WHEREAS, Crystal Lake RV Resort has demonstrated its commitment to recycling and source
reduction by:
• Proactively evaluating their recycling program and taking deliberate action to make
improvements and reduce contamination;
• Creating a recycling drop-off location with multiple waste streams to contribute to
waste reduction and recycling;
• Analyzing and finding reusable purpose for material that would have otherwise been
disposed of in the Collier County landfill;
• Working with the Collier County Waste Reduction team to increase resident
awareness of proper recycling practices; and
• Providing re-usable recycle bags to residents eliminating the use of plastic
bags.
WHEREAS, the WRAP award program includes a plaque and space on the County's website
showcasing eco-friendly business practices and recycling programs; and
WHEREAS, the Solid at Hazardous Waste Management Division congratulates Crystal Lake RV
Resort;
NOW THEREFORE, be it proclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of Collier County,
Florida, that we congratulate
