PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, the Collier County Recycling Ordinance Number 2009-56, established the Waste
Reduction Awards Program (the WRAP award); and
WHEREAS, the WRAP award recognizes businesses, institutions, and multi-family residences for
enhanced and innovative recycling programs; and
WHEREAS, Ole at Lely Resort contributes to the greater good of Collier County by advocating
the "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle" message, thereby helping to prolong the usable life of
the Collier County Landfill; and
WHEREAS, Ole at Lely Resort has demonstrated its commitment to recycling and source
reduction by:
• Proactively evaluating their recycling program and taking deliberate action to make
improvements and reduce contamination;
• Working with the Solid & Hazardous Waste Management Division to initiate an
innovative recycling service that best fits the recycling needs of the community;
• Working with the Collier County Waste Reduction team to increase resident
awareness of proper recycling practices by providing numerous sources of recycling
education materials; and
• Providing re-usable recycle bags to all residents eliminating the use of plastic
bags to tote their recyclables, contributing to decreased contamination.
WHEREAS, the WRAP award program includes a plaque and space on the County's website
showcasing eco-friendly business practices and recycling programs; and
WHEREAS, the Solid & Hazardous Waste Management Division congratulates Ole at Lely Resort;
NOW THEREFORE, be it proclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of Collier County,
Florida, that we congratulate
OLE AT LELY RESORT
