EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to approve and authorize the Chairman to execute the attached Resolution
authorizing the County Manager's execution of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airport
Coronavirus Response Grant Program (ACRGP) Agreements in the amount of $23,000 for the
Marco Island Executive Airport (MKY) and $13,000 for the Immokalee Regional Airport (IMM)
for eligible operating expenses and authorize all necessary budget amendments.
OBJECTIVE: To accept grant funding for eligible operating expenses at the Marco Island Executive
Airport and the Immokalee Regional Airport.
CONSIDERATIONS: The FAA determined that the Marco Island Executive Airport and the
Immokalee Regional Airports are eligible for funds under the Coronavirus Response a nd Relief
Supplemental Appropriations Act for costs related to operations, personnel, cleaning, sanitation,
janitorial services, combating the spread of pathogens at the airport and debt service payments.
The Board of County Commissioners (BCC) approved a submittal of an Airport Coronavirus Response
Grant Program (ACRGP) grant applications to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to fund
eligible operating expenses at the Marco Island Executive Airport and Immokalee Regional Airport on
March 23, 2021, Agenda Item 16G1.
The FAA has presented the Airport Authority with ACRGP Grant offers for the Marco Island Executive
Airport (MKY) and the Immokalee Regional Airport (IMM). The grant agreements must be executed by
electronic signature June 4, 2021.
The Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSAA) (Public Law 116-
260) signed into law by the President on December 27, 2020, includes nearly $2 billion in funds to be
awarded as economic relief to eligible U.S. airports and eligible concessions at those airports to prevent,
prepare for, and respond to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.
FISCAL IMPACT: Budget Amendments are necessary to recognize FAA grant revenue within Airport
Grant Fund (498), in the amounts of $23,000 and $13,000 within Project 33758 Project 33757
respectively. There is no match required. Sources of funding are FAA ACRGP grants.
