EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to authorize the necessary budget amendments to reallocate Transportation
Engineering Division project funds.
OBJECTIVE: To fund construction of the Logan Boulevard Median Crossover safety improvement
project on Logan Boulevard north of Immokalee Road from the Transportation Engineering Division cost
center in the amount of $141,797.17 for Fiscal Year 2021 and authorize all necessary budget
amendments.
CONSIDERATIONS: The increase in traffic along Logan Boulevard north of Immokalee Road has
been noticeable since the connection to Bonita Beach Road in Lee County was opened. This safety
improvement project consists of two median crossovers which will allow for a turnaround movement in
the median 2,200 feet east of Azalea Drive at Station 66+00 and 4,400 feet further north at Station
100+00.
FISCAL IMPACT: A budget amendment in the amount of $141,797.17 is required to reallocate funds
within Gas Tax Fund 313, from Project 60016 to Project 60245. Source of funds are gas taxes.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item has been reviewed by the County Attorney, raises no legal
issues and requires majority vote for approval. -JAK
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no growth management impact associated with this
action.
RECOMMENDATION: To authorize the necessary budget amendment as set forth in the above Fiscal
Impact section.
