P R O C L A M A T I O N
WHEREAS, the Collier County Recycling Ordinance Number 2009-56, established
the Waste Reduction Awards Program (the WRAP award); and
WHEREAS, the WRAP award recognizes businesses, institutions, and multi-family
residences for enhanced and innovative recycling programs; and
WHEREAS, Sunshine Ace Hardware of Golden Gate contributes to the greater
good of Collier County by advocating the “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle”
message, thereby helping to prolong the usable life of the Collier
County Landfill; and
WHEREAS, Sunshine Ace Hardware of Golden Gate has demonstrated its
commitment to recycling and source reduction by:
• Initiatives that go beyond the Collier County minimum commercial
recycling requirements.
• Proactively evaluating their recycling program and taking
deliberate action to make improvements.
• Optimizing their waste stream to only allow a handful of items
into the landfill.
• Switching to reusable containers to store products and material.
• Donating tons of material to the public and charities that would
otherwise end up in a waste stream.
WHEREAS, the WRAP award program includes a plaque and space on the County’s
website showcasing eco-friendly business practices and recycling
programs; and
WHEREAS, the Solid and Hazardous Waste Management Division congratulates
Sunshine Ace Hardware of Golden Gate;
NOW THEREFORE, be it proclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of
Collier County, Florida, that we congratulate
SUNSHINE ACE HARDWARE OF GOLDEN GATE
DONE AND ORDERED THIS 23rd Day of February 2021.
