EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to appoint two members to the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board.
OBJECTIVE: To appoint two members to the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board to fill the
remainder of vacant terms expiring on December 31, 2021.
CONSIDERATIONS: This seven-member committee was created by guidelines established on
November 25, 1975 and confirmed by Ordinance No. 93-81 to advise the Board of County
Commissioners on any matters concerning acquisition, development and programs involving parks and
recreation facilities in Collier County. Membership consists of one member from the Immokalee
Community Park District, and six members from the Naples and Urban Area Community Park District.
Terms are 4 years. A list of the current membership is included in the backup.
There are currently two vacant terms on this committee representing the Naples and Urban Area
Community Park District. The vacancies were advertised and applications were received from the

COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION: At their meeting on January 20, 2021, the committee reviewed
the above applications. Kristina Heuser and Paul DeMarco received the most votes from the committee
for recommendation to fill the currently vacant seats, which expire on December 31, 2021. A
recommendation memo is included in the backup to this item.
FISCAL IMPACT: None.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: None.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners adopts the Committee
Recommendation, and authorizes the Chair to execute the attached resol ution confirming the
appointments.

RESOLUTION NO. 2021 - ____
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, APPOINTING KRISTINA HEUSER
AND PAUL DEMARCO TO THE PARKS AND RECREATION
ADVISORY BOARD.
WHEREAS, Collier County Ordinance No. 93-81 established the Parks and Recreation
Advisory Board to advise the Board of County Commissioners on matters pertaining to the
acquisition, development and programs involving County park facilities; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance 93-81, as subsequently amended, provides that this Advisory
Board shall be composed of seven members, consisting of one member from the Immokalee
Community Park District and six members from the Naples and Urban Area Community Park
District; and
WHEREAS, there are two vacant seats on this Advisory Board; and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners previously provided public notice
soliciting applications from interested parties; and
WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board has provided the Board of County
Commissioners with its recommendation for appointment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that KRISTINA HEUSER and
PAUL DEMARCO, each representing the Naples and Urban Area Community Park District, are
hereby appointed to the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board to fill the remainder of vacant
terms expiring on December 31, 2021.
THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED upon majority vote on the 9th day of February, 2021.
