P R O C L A M A T I O N
WHEREAS, Community School of Naples has provided a consistently exceptional education
to children in Collier County since 1982; and
WHEREAS, Community School of Naples offers nearly 20% of enrolled students tuition
assistance, budgeting millions of dollars per year for families of any race,
color, nationality or ethnic origin so that children, who might otherwise not
have the financial wherewithal, can afford this excellent education; and
WHEREAS, Community School of Naples is committed to character development, beginning
with our youngest students, emphasizing good citizenship, responsibility,
respect, honesty, fairness, kindness, cooperation, courage and perseverance;
and
WHEREAS, Community School of Naples students of all ag es regularly contribute
thousands of hours per year in service learning and environmental citizenship
to the Collier County community; and
WHEREAS, Community School of Naples is committed to academic excellence, inspiring and
empowering students to realize their own potential as engaged learners and
responsible global citizens; and
WHEREAS, the Upper School at Community School of Naples offers over 100 college
preparatory courses up through Post-AP, some not found anywhere else in
Collier County; and
WHEREAS, one hundred percent of the graduates of Community School of Naples attend
selective four-year colleges and universities; and
WHEREAS, from 1999 to 2020, 126 Community School of Naples students were honored
as National Merit Finalists, and an additional 118 students received Letters of
Commendation; and
WHEREAS, in addition to academics, Community School of Naples teaches and applies
leadership and teamwork skills to create well-rounded students through
athletics and the arts; and
WHEREAS, to these ends, Community School of Naples recently completed two new
buildings, the Fountain 33 Institute for Science and Environmental Research
(ISER) and the John N. Allen Family Stadium. These additions to their North
Naples campus are an investment in Collier County’s leaders of tomorrow;
NOW THEREFORE, be it proclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of Collier County,
Florida, that February 9, 2021 be designated as
COMMUNITY SCHOOL OF NAPLES DAY IN COLLIER COUNTY
