Agenda 02/09/2021 Item #11E (County Manager recruitment process)02/09/2021 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Recommendation to provide additional staff direction regarding the County Manager recruitment process. OBJECTIVE: To review the list of candidate finalists for the position of County Manager and determine actions required to complete the hiring process for the vacancy. CONSIDERATIONS: During the January 26, 2021 BCC meeting, the Commissioners determined that the hiring process to fill the County Manager vacancy would be handled internally. It was further decided that each Commissioner would provide a list of candidate finalists for the position. The selection process yielded names for nine individuals. Each Commissioner’s selections, listed in order by district, then alphabetically by candidate last name, are provided in the table below. District 1 Comm. LoCastro District 2 Comm. LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item has been reviewed by the County attorney, raises no legal issues, and requires majority vote for action. -JAK RECOMMENDATION: That the Board review and discuss the candidate finalists, provide direction to staff regarding communication, if any, to individuals who are not part of the finalist list, and determine next steps in the recruitment and selection process.
