EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to appoint two members to the Golden Gate City Economic Development Zone
Advisory Board.
OBJECTIVE: To reappoint one current member and appoint one new member to the Golden Gate City
Economic Development Zone Advisory Board, to two-year terms expiring on January 28, 2023.
CONSIDERATIONS: The Golden Gate City Economic Development Zone Advisory Board was
created on November 13, 2018, by Ordinance No. 18-56, for the purpose of advising and assisting the
Board of County Commissioners (BCC) in the establishment, review and enhancement of policies and
programs to attract businesses or industries to the Golden Gate City Economic Development Zone,
reviewing and making recommendations on applications for funding through the Trust Fund, and any
other matters that may be assigned by the BCC. This seven-member advisory board shall be composed of
persons who are residents of Golden Gate City, or who represent business and commercial interests in the
Golden Gate City Economic Development Zone. Terms are two years. A list of the current membership is
included in the backup.
There is one current vacancy, and three seats which shall expire on January 28, 2021. The vacancies were
advertised and applications were received from the following:

ATTENDANCE: Ms. Zenti missed no meetings since she was appointed in January 2020.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: At its recent meeting the committee did not have a quorum to make
recommendations for appointment. Staff has reviewed the above applicants and recommends that Ms.
Zenti and Dr. Holmes each be appointed to the committee, to two year terms expiring on January 28,
2023. A recommendation memo is included in the backup. The remaining vacancies will continue to be
advertised.
FISCAL IMPACT: None.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: None.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners adopts the Staff Recommendation,
and authorizes the Chair to execute the attached resolution confirming the appointments.

RESOLUTION NO. 2021 - _____
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, REAPPOINTING CECILIA ZENTI AND
APPOINTING J.B. HOLMES TO THE GOLDEN GATE CITY
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ZONE ADVISORY BOARD.
WHEREAS, on November 13, 2018, the Board of County Commissioners (Board)
adopted Ordinance No. 18-56 establishing the Golden Gate City Economic Development Zone
Advisory Board (Committee); and
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 18-56 provides for membership to be composed of seven
members who are residents of Golden Gate City, or who represent business and commercial
interests in the Golden Gate City Economic Development Zone; and
WHEREAS, there is one vacancy and three seats expiring on January 28, 2021, on this
Committee; and
WHEREAS, the Board has provided public notice soliciting applications from interested
parties; and
WHEREAS, staff has provided its recommendation for appointment and reappointment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that CECILIA ZENTI, as Resident,
is hereby reappointed to her seat on the Golden Gate City Economic Development Zone, and that
J.B. HOLMES, as Resident, is hereby appointed to the Golden Gate City Economic
Development Zone, each to two-year terms expiring on January 28, 2023.
THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED upon majority vote on this the 26th day of January, 2021.
