EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to authorize a budget amendment to transfer $61,000 within Airport Operating
Fund (495) from Reserves to Marco Island Executive Airport Cost Center (192370) to acquire
airport equipment.
OBJECTIVE: To procure equipment required to maintain safe and efficient airport operations at the
Marco Island Executive Airport’s (MKY) new terminal facility.
CONSIDERATIONS: A steady increase in activity at MKY in FY20 resulted in excess revenues that
have since been placed in Airport Authority Reserves (Fund 495). During the fiscal 2021 budgeting
process, it was anticipated that any excess funds would be reallocated from Airport Operating Reserves
Fund (495) to Airport Operating Fund (495) to fund the acquisition and replacement of air port equipment
to meet the demands of traffic levels when the Airport takes occupancy of the new terminal building later
this year. The following table depicts the equipment that is required to maintain safe and efficient
operations.

FISCAL IMPACT: A budget amendment in the amount of $61,000 is necessary to transfer funds
within Airport Operating Fund (495) from Reserves to Marco Island Executive Airport Cost Center
(192370) for the purchase of new and replacement equipment listed above.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no growth management impact associated with this
action.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item has been reviewed by the County Attorney, raises no legal
issues, and requires majority vote for approval. -JAK
