EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to approve and authorize the Chairman to sign an agreement between Collier
County and the Collier County Child Advocacy Center to provide medical examination and
consultation services to children who are the victims of abuse and neglect in Collier County, as
required by Florida Statutes, in the amount of $80,000.
OBJECTIVE: To provide medical examination and consultation services to children who are the victims
of abuse and neglect in Collier County.
CONSIDERATIONS: The Collier County Child Advocacy Center (CCCAC) is a not for profit provider
in Collier County. CCCAC is funded, in part, via state contracts for the provision of safe exchange
services and forensic medical services. CCCAC will provide the initial forensic physical examination and
medical consultation services for abused or neglected children who are residents of Collier County,
pursuant to F.S. Section 39.304(5). Florida Statutes require the county in which the child is a resident
shall bear the initial costs of the examination of the allegedly abused, abandoned, or neglected child;
however, the parents or legal custodian of the child shall be required to reimburse the county for the costs
of such examination, except for an initial forensic physical examination as provided in Section 960.28

The proposed agreement contract period is from October 1, 2020 through September 30, 2021.
FISCAL IMPACT: The total amount of $80,000 for the service agreement has been appropriated in the
FY21 budget under the general fund (001).
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item has been approved as to form and legality and requires
majority vote for approval -JAB
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no Growth Management impact associated with this
Executive Summary.
RECOMMENDATION: To approve and authorize the Chairman to sign an agreement between Collier
County and the Collier County Child Advocacy Center as required by Florida Statutes in the amount of
$80,000.
