101
RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER
COUNTY, FLORIDA, APPROVING A REVISED SCEHDULE FOR COLLIER COUNTY
LIBRARY FINES AND FEES
WHEREAS, the Callier Caunty Public Library Palicies require Library fines and fees and
Callier Caunty Ordinance NO'. 93-86 requires that the Library Advisary Baard furnish budget
recammendatians to' the Baard af Caunty Cammissianers ("BCC") far the farthcaming fiscal
year for the aperatian af the Caunty's Library system, and that the Library Directar prepare the
annual budget af the library system in accardance with recammendatians af the Library Advisary
Baard; and
WHEREAS, the Advisary Baard has recammended that the BCC approve amendments to' the
naw existing Library Fines and Fees Schedule because that Schedule has nat been increased
during the past ten (10) years and needs to' be up-dated.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that:
I. The Fine and Fees Schedule, attached heretO', is appraved. Same af the provisians are:
a. The maximum fine per item averdue is $5. A ane-day grace periad is granted far all
items whereby each item returned anly ane (1) day late will nat incur a fine, but if the
item is returned twO' (2) days late, the averdue fine shall be assessed an bath late
days.
b. Far adult print materials the fine is 15 cents ($ 0.15) per item per day averdue, except
a 10 cent ($0.10) per item per day averdue charge far adult paperback baaks, and a
$1 per item per day averdue charge far Reference baaks.
c. The fine far children's print and audiavisual materials is 10 cents ($ 0.10) per item
per day averdue, except the fine is $1 per item per day averdue far Children's
videacassettes and DVDs.
d. The fine far adult audiO' and CD-ROM materials is 15 cents ($0.15) per item per day
averdue.
e. The fine far videacassettes and DVDs is $1 per item per day, and far Juvenile
Filmstrips is $1 per item per day averdue.
f. The fee is 50 cents ($0.50) far each bill natice sent via U.S. Mail far last library
material.
g. The fee far a replacement ar damaged library card is ane dallar ($1.00); The fee far
replacement pracessing is twO' dallars and fifty cents ($2.50) per item.
h. The fee far a last ar damaged film barrawed from the State Library shall be between
ane hundred twenty-five dallars ($125) and fifteen hundred dallars ($1,500), equal to'
the actual cast to' repair ar replace the item as determined by the State Library.
1. The fee far a phatacapy ar laser printer autput is ten cents ($0.10) per page.
J. The fee far a microfilm printaut is twenty-five cents ($0.25) per page.
k. The fee to' repair ar replace damaged media baxes, bags, or baak cavers is ane dallar
($1.00) per item.
l. The fee far nan-resident library cards is ten dallars ($10.00) per quarter, twenty
dallars ($20.00) per six manth, thirty dallars ($30.00) per nine manths, and farty
dallars ($40.00) per year.
m. Service shall be denied to' patrons awing ten dallars ($10.00) ar mare in fines ar fees.
2. This Resalutian repeals Callier Caunty Resalutian NO'. 2000-244. The new Schedule,
attached heretO', shall be effective ane day after the adaptian date af this Resalutian.
3. This Resalutian adapted after matian, secand and majarity vate by the Baard af Caunty
