PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, AmeriCorps members are making a powerful impact on the most
critical issues facing our nation; and
WHEREAS, AmeriCorps Near Peer Coaching for Postsecondary Success
sponsored by Earn to Learn FL and Volunteer Florida address the
most pressing challenges of educating students for jobs of the
21st century; and
WHEREAS, Earn to Learn FL will mark the opening day of AmeriCorps Near
Peer Coaching for Postsecondary Success sponsored by Earn to
Learn FL and Volunteer Florida with a pledge ceremony for 40
AmeriCorps members to launch Near Peer Coaching for
Postsecondary Success for their service to Lee, Collier,
Charlotte, Hendry, and Hillsborough counties; and
WHEREAS, national service expands economic opportunity by creating more
sustainable, resilient communities and providing experience,
career skills, and college scholarships for those who serve; and
WHEREAS, AmeriCorps members demonstrate commitment, dedication, and
patriotism by making an intensive commitment to service, and
after their terms of service remain engaged in our communities as
volunteers, public servants, and civic leaders in disproportionately
high levels;
NOW THEREFORE, be it proclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of
Collier County, Florida, that the public service rendered by the
Earn to Learn FL Near Peer Coaching for Postsecondary Success
Program is recognized for the positive impact made by
AmeriCorps members in Collier County;
DONE AND ORDERED THIS 22nd Day of September, 2020.
