PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, the Collier County Recycling Ordinance Number 2009-56, established the
Waste Reduction Awards Program (the WRAP award); and
WHEREAS, the WRAP award recognizes businesses, institutions, and multi -family
residences for enhanced and innovative recycling programs; and
WHEREAS, Newell Property Management Corporation contributes to the greater good of
Collier County by advocating the "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle" message, thereby
helping to prolong the usable life of the Collier County Landfill; and
WHEREAS, Newell Property Management Corporation's commitment to recycling and
source reduction includes:
• Working with the Waste Reduction and Recycling Section to stay up-to-
date with the current recycling requirements, as these do change.
• Facilitating the distribution of educational material about Collier County's
recycling program to the many properties they represent.
• Scheduling recycling presentations at the community's annual board
meetings, thus allowing the Waste Reduction and Recycling Section to
reach more residents with their message than would otherwise be
possible.
• Using their contact with so many communities to share information
concerning Collier County's recycling and other program services, which
promotes clean recycling and contributes to Collier County's recycling
rate.
WHEREAS, the WRAP award program includes a plaque and space on the County's
website showcasing eco-friendly business practices and recycling programs;
and
WHEREAS, the Solid and Hazardous Waste Management Division congratulates Newell
Property Management Corporation;
NOW THEREFORE, be it proclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of Collier
County, Florida, that we congratulate

WASTE REDUCTION AWARDS PROGRAM (WRAP)
NOMINATION FORM
CRITERIA
A business, institution or multi -family complex must be located within the unincorporated areas of Collier
County and have integrated new, expanded, exceptional and/or innovative recycling and/or waste reduction
efforts into its solid waste management system in response to and exceeding minimum requirements of the
amended Recycling Ordinance No. 2009-56. The Ordinance can be found online:
www.colliercountvfl.qov/recycles
Examples include but are not limited to, partnering with another agency to reuse waste materials, increasing
capture of recyclable materials from zero to 100%, incorporating innovative methods of collection and/or
processing of recyclable materials.
Businesses, institutions or multi -family complex can be self -nominated, nominated by an individual or as
the result of a site visit by County personnel. Awards will be presented at least eight times a year from
January to December. A panel of technical associates considering the waste reduction and recycling
program merits, based on the program summary, will determine the awards.
AWARD DESCRIPTION
The Collier County Waste Reduction Awards Program includes space on the website,
www.colliergov.net/recycles showcasing the business, institution, service entities, temporary events, venue
facilities or multi -family complex and its exceptional recycling/waste reduction program, use of the
CC/WRAP logo including a framed certificate, BCC proclamation, and a recycled glass award.
