Agenda 09/08/2020 Item #16F6 (Employee of the Month)09/08/2020 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Recommendation to recognize Chase Harrison, Public Utilities Solid Waste Recycling Specialist, as the July 2020 Employee of the Month. OBJECTIVE: To recognize the efforts and accomplishments of an employee who has made significant contributions to the organization and to our community. CONSIDERATIONS: Chase has set the bar for other Solid Waste Operations team members regarding customer service levels and valuing County assets. Chase has worked closely with other employees to develop Standard Operating Procedures and efficient workflow practices that are easy to follow, more practical, and applicable to their daily work. He spends a lot of time with his team members to better understand their needs and helps provide them with a safe and pleasant work environment. Chase regularly engages with other team members regarding safety precautions and being mindful, especially during this time of COVID-19. Chase has implemented asset management tools for the recycling centers, saving the Count y several thousands of dollars per month in electronic recycling fees, and recently was instrumental in obtaining a Styrofoam Recycling Grant. These improvements not only enhance the Division’s ability to track assets and generate revenue, but also add value for our customers, who have been requesting Styrofoam recycling services for years. His number one priority is maintaining the highest customer service level possible. Additionally, Chase is a resourceful problem solver, communicates effectively, and demonstrates a multi- tasking skill set. He truly sets a leading example for others in the Division. Chase always displays a pleasant demeanor; you know you can always expect a smile, and a great attitude. He has brought so much energy and drive to the Solid Waste Division, and for these reasons he is very deserving of this recognition. FISCAL IMPACT: The selected “Employee of the Month” receives a $150.00 cash award. Funds for this are available in the employee’s budget cost center. GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There are no Growth Management Impacts associated with this Executive Summary.
