Agenda 09/08/2020 Item #16C4 (Fiber Cable Easement)09/08/2020 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Recommendation to approve a Fiber Cable Easement between Collier County and The District School Board of Collier County, Florida, at no cost to the County. OBJECTIVE: To approve a Fiber Cable Easement between Collier County (County) and The District School Board of Collier County, Florida (School Board). CONSIDERATIONS: The School Board has requested a Fiber Cable Easement from County on County-owned property on the north side of Lely Cultural Parkway where the Bureau of Emergency Management facilities (ESC) are located. The Fiber Cable Easement will facilitate the installation of fiber cable to connect the Lely Elementary School to the County’s ESC Building to the west to improve the performance of emergency first responder’s radio systems at all District school sites. The proposed pathway for the fiber cable installation will not impact the Conservation Easements that exist on both the School Board property, and the County’s property. The attached document has been reviewed and approved by the County Attorney’s Office. FISCAL IMPACT: There is no cost to the County. GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no Growth Management Impact. LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item has been approved for form and legality and requires majority vote for approval. - JAB RECOMMENDATION: Staff is recommending that the Board of County Commissioners: 1) Approve and authorize the Chairman to execute the Fiber Cable Easement; and 2) Direct the County Manager or his designee to record the Fiber Cable Easement in the Public Records of Collier County, Florida.
