Correspondence - Dave Marut & Elizabeth Landers Patricia L. Morgan From: Dave M <damarutl @gmail.com> Sent: Thursday, July 16, 2020 3:09 PM To: value adjustment board Cc: Landers, Elizabeth Subject: homestead property exemption for 4506 Kensington Circle External Message: Please use caution when opening attachments, clicking links, or replying to this message. Hello: We recently received a notice of disapproval on our application for a homestead tax exemption on property 74937502788. (Stonecreek Plat Two Lot 412; 4506 Kensington Circle). We were informed that this was because we were receiving a homestead exemption on our property in Illinois. Since that time, we have removed the homestead exemption on the Illinois home (as of 4/2020). Please advise what steps we will need to take to ensure that we can change our status for the next billing/assessment cycle on our main home in Naples. We can be reached at this email address or via phone at 630-476-2491. Best regards, Dave Marut Elizabeth Landers 1 Patricia L. Morgan From: Patricia L. They will be able to inform you on whether or not you have submitted all of the necessary paperwork that they would need from you going forward for an exemption on your property in Collier County. In the meantime, you would want to file an exemption appeal for this late filing with the Value Adjustment Board (VAB). I have attached a petition for your use and the filing fee is $15.00, payable to VAB Clerk. (Include a date-stamped copy of application that you received from the PAO.) Please complete the petition in full, sign the 2nd page, and mail or bring it to the address below: ATTN:Value Adjustment Board c/o VAB Clerk Collier County Government Complex 3299 Tamiami Trail East,Suite#401 Naples, FL 34112 Once the VAB process begins, our office and/or the PAO will contact you. If your petition goes to a hearing, we will also send you the written recommendation by the VAB Special Magistrate. In early 2021, the VAB will meet to review and adopt the recommendations of the Magistrate.
