EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to authorize budget amendments to recognize revenue and transfer reserves for
Marco Island Executive Airport, in the amount of $210,000 to accommodate increased fuel
purchases and associated operating expenses over budgeted levels.
OBJECTIVE: To authorize budget amendments to recognize revenue and transfer reserves for Marco
Island Executive Airport, in the amount of $210,000 to accommodate increased fuel purchases and
associated operating expenses over budgeted levels.
CONSIDERATIONS: A steady increase in activity at the Marco Island Executive Airport this fiscal
year has resulted in budgeted expense levels that are insufficient to continue purchasing aviation fuels
and cover associated operating expenses. Budget amendments are required to transfer reserves,
recognize revenue and appropriate funding to accommodate additional fuel purchases and associated
operating expenses for the remainder of FY2020.
FISCAL IMPACT: Budget amendments are required to recognize and appropriate revenue in the
amount of $160,000 and transfer $50,000 in reserves within Collier County Airport Fund (495).
Purchase orders for AV gas, Jet-A fuel and associated operating expenses at the Marco Island Airport
will be increased accordingly to allow for the continued purchase of critical products and services.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no growth management impact related to this item.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item has been reviewed by the County Attorney, is approved as to
form and legality and requires majority vote for approval. -JAK
RECOMMENDATION: To authorize budget amendments to recognize revenue for fund center
192370, Marco Island Executive Airport, within Collier County Airport Fund (495) in the amount of
$210,000 and appropriate the funding to accommodate increased fuel purchases and associated operating
expenses over budgeted levels.
