EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to accept Contract No. ASH85, Financial Project 412574-1-78-02, State of Florida
Department of Transportation (“FDOT”) State Highway Lighting, Maintenance and Compensation
Agreement for maintenance of FDOT owned roadway li ghting systems to be maintained by Collier
County Traffic Operations and granting signature authority to the Chief Engineer of Traffic
Operations to sign off on ministerial annual updates concerning the Exhibit List to the Agreement.
OBJECTIVE: To request the Board to accept FDOT State Highway Lighting, Maintenance and
Compensation Agreement for maintenance of roadway lighting, and to authorize the Chief Engineer of
Traffic Operations the ability to sign off on ministerial annual updates concerning the Ex hibit List to the
Agreement.
CONSIDERATIONS: Under the attached agreement, Collier County is the maintaining agency of FDOT
owned roadway lighting as part of the FDOT State Highway Lighting, Maintenance and Compensation
Agreement.
FDOT is improving state highways in Collier County with the installation of new roadway lighting. At
FDOT’s request, staff is also asking that the Engineer of Traffic Operations be authorized to sign off on
ministerial annual updates concerning the Exhibit List to the Agreement that may reflect any additions or
subtractions of identified lighting under the Agreement.
FISCAL IMPACT: The FDOT State Highway Lighting, Maintenance and Compensation Agreement
compensates maintaining agencies for this work. Collier County Traffic Operations will receive
$402,704.19 annually for existing FDOT roadway lighting maintenance. Revenues are budgeted in
Transportation Operating Fund (101), Traffic Operations Cost Center 163630.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: This action will result in no growth management impact.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item is approved as to form and legality, and requires majority vote
for Board approval.-SRT
RECOMMENDATION: To accept the FDOT State Highway Lighting, Maintenance and Compensation
Agreement for maintenance of FDOT owned roadway lighting systems to be maintained by Collier
County Traffic Operations and authorize the Chief Engineer of Traffic Operations the ability to sign off
on ministerial annual updates concerning the Exhibit List to the Agreement. The requested signature
authority will be for acceptance of maintenance only for roadway lighting equipment.
