EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to recognize Debbi Maxon, Public Services Case Manager, as the May 2020
Employee of the Month.
OBJECTIVE: To recognize the efforts and accomplishments of an employee who has made significant
contributions to the organization and to our community.
CONSIDERATIONS: Debbi is a Case Manager with Community & Human Services, Services for the
Services for Seniors program, and has been with Collier County for 29 years.
Debbi contacted the Collier Resource Center asking for assistance in helping a 92-year-old client have a
wheelchair ramp constructed outside her home. The client lives alone and is wheelchair bound, and the
ramp would provide continued independence and mobility. The Center secured funding from St. Vincent
de Paul and Alley Design to build and donate their time in the permitting and the construction of the
ramp. The wheelchair ramp was completed at the end of February 2020 and Debbi organized a "Ribbon
Cutting” where all the community partners came to the client's home to celebrate with the homeowner.
The client was so thankful and proud that Debbi cared enough about her to go that extra mile and not give
up finding the community resources to build the wheelchair ramp for her.
In additions to assisting her clients, during the COVID-19 pandemic, many of the CHS grants have had to
change coding and billing to meet the new Federal Grant guidelines for COVID-19. Debbi initiated a
specific billing spreadsheet to track case managers' time when contacting seniors and assisting the Seniors
Program employees to track their time and ensure accurate billing. Debbi is truly deserving of the
Employee of the Month Award.
FISCAL IMPACT: The selected “Employee of the Month” receives a $150.00 cash award. Funds for
this are available in the employee’s budget cost center.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There are no Growth Management Impacts associated with
this Executive Summary.
