EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to recognize and appropriate revenue within Unincorporated Landscape Fund
(112) in the amount of $120,629.33, and within Gas Tax Fund (313) in the amount of $181,469.67
for Fiscal Year 2020 and authorize all necessary Budget Amendments.
OBJECTIVE: To recognize and appropriate revenue within Unincorporated Landscape Fund (112) in
the amount of $120,629.33, and within Gas Tax Fund (313) in the amount of $181,649.67 for Fiscal Year
2020 and authorize all necessary Budget Amendments.
CONSIDERATION: The Road Maintenance Division's Landscape Operations Section is responsible for
the maintenance, repair, and replacement of County-owned median landscape and irrigation. Due to
numerous vehicle crashes, costs for necessary repairs and replacements greatly exceeded the expected
annual routine maintenance costs. Recognizing revenues from insurance claims, interdepartmental
reimbursements and prior year reimbursements over budgeted amounts will allow for the purchase of
materials needed to make the associated repairs.
In addition, the Road Maintenance Division utilizes gas tax funding to resurface roadways throughout the
County. Interdepartmental reimbursements above budgeted amounts were received for a resurfacing
project completed in conjunction with the Public Utilities Department. Recognizing these revenues will
allow for additional roadway resurfacing in Fiscal Year 2020.
FISCAL IMPACT: Budget amendments are necessary to recognize revenue of $120,629.33 and to
appropriate the funds within Unincorporated Landscape Fund (112), Project 31112, and to recognize
revenue in the amount of $181,469.67 and to appropriate the funds within Gas Tax Fund (313), Project
60131.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no growth management impact associated with this
action.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item has been reviewed by the County Attorney, raises no legal
issues, and requires majority vote for approval. -JAK
RECOMMENDATION: To authorize the recognition and appropriation of revenue within
Unincorporated Landscape Fund (112) in the amount of $120,629.33, and within Gas Tax Fund (313) in
the amount of $181,469.67 for Fiscal Year 2020 and authorize all necessary Budget Amendments.
