EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to approve the Construction Agreement with the Florida Department of
Transportation (FDOT) for Collier Area Transit (CAT) to construct a bus pull-out at bus stop site
367 on FDOT owned Right-of-Ways and approve a Resolution authorizing the Chairman to sign
the agreement.
OBJECTIVE: To enter into an agreement with the FDOT to allow CAT to construct a bus pull out for
the passengers to be able to board and disembark safely.
CONSIDERATIONS: As part of the bus stop improvement plan, CAT is improving various bus stops.
Bus stop site #367 located on State Road 29 and E. Main Street will need to have a bus pull-out
constructed due to FDOT regulation. This bus pull-out will enhance the safety of the passengers boarding
and disembarking.
County staff is currently working with FDOT on several ADA bus stop improvement projects and was
notified that an agreement is required for construction work on the FDOT owned Right -of-Ways. The
Construction Agreement will allow the currently planned and designed ADA improvement to be
completed. CAT is responsible for the design and construction of the bus pull -out to include ADA
improvement in the amount of $28,777.
FISCAL IMPACT: There is no Fiscal impact associated with the agreement.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This Item is approved as to form and legality and requires majority vote
for approval. -CMG
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: This Item is consistent with Objective 10 and 12 of the
Transportation Element of the Growth Management Plan.
RECOMMENDATION: To approve an agreement with the Florida Department of Transportation and
authorize the Chairman to execute the agreement and the attached Resolution in support of this action.
