A RESOLUTION OF TilE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COI.LlER COUNTY APPROVING
EXPENDITURE OF UP TO 52.000 FOR COLLIER
COUNTY PARTICIPATION IN A YOUTHS' MIDNIGHT
BASKETBALl. TOURNAMF.NT IN ORI.ANDO. FI.ORIDA.

WHEREAS, Collier County Ordinance No. 87-5 al/ows expenditure of County funds to
effectuat~ the purposes orthe Ordinance provided the expenditures are approved hy lhe Board
through an implementing Resolution selling fOl1h the purposes of the expenditures: ,mu
WHEREAS, these expenditures arc not specifically listed in th,e expenditure categories
set fonh in Collier County Ordinance No. 87-5; and
WHEREAS,the subjcct Midnight Basketball Program League provides "at .'!Sk" youth
an opponunity to panicipate in these wholesome. organized. structured activities; and
WHEREAS. ten (10) basketball players have been chosen because of their exemplary
behavior with Midnight Basketball and constructive activities in the Go Men Gate Community.
NOW, THEREFORE. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FI.ORIDA, that:
I. Expenditures of up \0 52.000 for the scheduled Youth Midnight Baskelball Tournament
in Orlando. Florida. from April 9 through April II. 1998. arc hereby deternlined by the
Board to serve a valid public purpose and are hereby approved.
2. These expenditures arc for hotel rooms and per diem meals for thlo: scleelea len pl:Jyers
who will be panicipating in this Tournament in Orlando. and at :cast two chaperones.
3. These funds arc from private donations and arc budgeted in the Golden Gale Communil)'
Center Fund 130.
This Resolution adopted aner mOl ion. second and majority vote favoring same.
