P R O C L A M A T I O N
WHEREAS, Healthcare Network was founded in Collier County in 1977 to
address the health needs of migrant and seasonal farmworkers,
rural poor, and to improve access to high-quality healthcare for
all citizens of Collier County; and
WHEREAS, from the basic services provided initially in two small trailers,
Healthcare Network has grown to numerous practices throughout
Collier County providing OB/GYN, pediatric, dental, behavioral,
senior, family, pharmacy and other critical primary care
services; and
WHEREAS, Healthcare Network’s mission is: “To provide quality healthcare
accessible to everyone in our community,” and Healthcare
Network treats over 49,000 patients with over 200,000 patient
visits to their offices; and
WHEREAS, Healthcare Network’s two mobile units, the Ronald McDonald
Care Mobile and the Health & Smiles Mobile, bring care to
children and families at schools, community events, and
agricultural locations; and
WHEREAS, Healthcare Network continues to invest in Collier County where
the need is the greatest; and
WHEREAS, their newest location, the Nichols Community Health Center in
the Golden Gate community, was specifically located there to
increase access to affordable, high-quality healthcare for the
36,000 residents living there and all those in need in Collier
County;
NOW THEREFORE, be it proclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of
Collier County, Florida, that April 2, 2020 be designated as
HEALTHCARE NETWORK DAY IN COLLIER COUNTY
DONE AND ORDERED THIS 24th Day of March 2020.
