EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to authorize a budget amendment in the amount of $20,000 to Vanderbilt Drive
Project, Project Number 70087.
OBJECTIVE: To provide reliable, sustainable, and regulatory compliant services to the customers along
Vanderbilt Drive and the 14 adjacent Conners Subdivision neighborhood cul-de-sacs by replacing and
refurbishing the water, wastewater and stormwater infrastructure in coordination with the Wastewater
Basin 101 Program and the Vanderbilt Beach aerial to underground utility conversion.
CONSIDERATIONS: On July 12, 2016 (as Agenda Item 11D), the Board approved Contract No. 16-
6638 to Mitchell & Stark Construction Co., Inc., for the Vanderbilt Drive Cul-de-sacs Project; which
included the replacement of water, wastewater and stormwater infrastructure. See Attachment 1 - Project
Map.
The Vanderbilt Drive Cul-de-sacs Public Utilities Renewal Project achieved substantial completion on
October 25, 2019. Utilities have been operational since utility work was completed on October 10, 2019.
All streets have both layers of asphalt. Approximately 496 driveways have been restored to date. To
complete the project, driveway restoration is required at approximately 15 paver driveways.
In addition, the Vanderbilt Drive Municipal Service Taxing Unit (MSTU) underground electrical
activation and pole removal are complete. A budget amendment for Project Number 70087 is required to
reimburse the Vanderbilt Drive MSTU for the impact that the Public Utilities project had upon the M STU
electrical underground project.
FISCAL IMPACT: The source of funding is Water User Fees, Fund (412). A budget amendment in the
amount of $20,000 is required to reallocate funds from Project 70123 into Project 70087.
Staff analyzed current and future needs to ensure that the budget amendments will not negatively affect
current and future financial commitments.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item has been reviewed by the County Attorney, raises no legal
issues, and requires majority vote for approval. -JAK
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: This project meets current Growth Management Plan
standards to ensure the adequacy and availability of viable public facilities.
RECOMMENDATION: Recommendation to authorize a budget amendment in the amount of $20,000
for the Vanderbilt Drive Project, Project Number 70087.
