EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to appoint a member to the Educational Facilities Authority.
OBJECTIVE: To appoint one member to the Educational Facilities Authority to fill a vacant term
expiring on March 23, 2023.
CONSIDERATIONS: The purpose of this five-member authority is to assist private non-profit
institutions for higher education in the construction, financing, and refinancing of projects. One member
shall be a trustee, director, officer, or employee of an institution for higher education l ocated in Collier
County. Terms are 5 years. A list of the current membership is included in the backup.
There is one vacant seat on this authority. The vacancy was advertised and applications were received
from the following:

STAFF RECOMMENDATION: That Michael McDonald be appointed to this Authority to fill a vacant

GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: None.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners adopts the Staff Recommendation,
and directs the County Attorney to prepare a resolution confirming the appointment.
