Appoint Chairman Commissioner Tom Henning, District 3 3. Rules of Procedure A. Proposed Amendments to V AB Rules of Procedure · If Property Appraiser doesn't exchange evidence to petitioner in specified time period, petitioner may in writing request a reschedule with the Clerk's Office · 5 business days for "good cause" hearings for being late filed · Incorporation into the 2006 V AB Rules: use of Form used to note Evidence to be presented · Time used in evidence exchange 15 days for petitioner/7 days for Property Appraiser Amended 2006 V AB Rules of Procedure - Approved 5/0 B. Dates and Deadlines noted · TRIM to be mailed in August · Deadline to accept petitions (25 days following TRIM mailing) · "Good Cause" Hearing to be heard by Attorney Special Magistrate for any late filing · V AB to meet prior to or on October 13, 2005 (each V AB members' calendars to be checked and date/time set accordingly) 4. Special Magistrate to hear Tangible Personal Property Petitions Gerald Lagace - Approved 5/0 3. Special Magistrates to hear Real Property Tax Petitions Mark Pelletier for Residential Tax Petitions; Scott Watson w/Coastal Consultants for Commercial Tax Petitions - Approved 5/0 4. Special Magistrate appointed as an Alternate "Appraiser" Special Magistrate Stephen Cunningham: Alternate that can hear Residential and/or Commercial Tax Petitions - Approved 5/0 5. Resolution of the Value Adjustment Board relating to a filing fee for petitions filed pursuant to Section 194.011, Florida Statutes (Objections to Assessments) V AB Resolution 2006-01 Adopted 5/0 6. Comments A. Department of Revenue is recommending in the future workshops for V AB Processes: · Standardization of V AB Procedures across the state of Florida · Training of Special Magistrates · Developing a checklist for verifying qualifications of Special Magistrates B. V AB Final Package Preparation: To accept Special Magistrate recommendations and agendas to include a copy of each of the petitions and the Special Magistrate recommendations; Complete Evidence packages to be prepared for both the School Board Office and the Board of County Commissioner's Office 7.
