RESOLUTION NO. 00--31L
RESOLUTION APPOVING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF AN EMPLOYEE
REFFERAL PROGRAM TO REWARD EMPLOYEES WHO REFER QUALIFIED,
SELECTED CANDIDATES FOR HIRE INTO VACANT COUNTY POSITIONS.
WHEREAS, the pool of qualified and available persons to fill various County
positions is often limited; and
WHERAS, the Human Resources Department is presently seeking to adopt
more innovative and effective recruitment techniques; and
WHEREAS; many private and public employers have implemented or are
considering implementing various bonus incentives to more effectively locate and
recruit qualified applicants.
NOW. THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA that:
This Resolution to approve the initiation of an Employee Referral Bonus
program is hereby adopted. Under this program, employees who refer new and
selected applicants for vacant County positions will be eligible to receive a cash
bonus in an amount not to exceed $500 initially. The County Manager shall be
authorized to implement procedures to manage this program and shall have the
discretion to adjust the $500 threshold subsequent to implementation should
circumstances warrant.
This Resolution adopted after motion, second and majority vote, favoring same.
