Benison Center is a not-for- profit organization which acts as a resource and distribution center that provides sup port to those who need it most. The Emergency Management Department has enjoyed an excellent working relationship with the Benison Center in joint disaster relief and recovery initiatives. The Culinary Accelerator opened in January 2018 in Immokalee and provides a state-of-the-art, 5,274 square-foot commercial kitchen to its membership base. Adding a permanent source of backup power to the facility will make the cooking and food processing space and cold storage available to the County during times of local emergency or disaster. Benison Center in Immokalee, FL would like to donate the Cummins Generator to be installed at the Culinary Accelerator (valued at approximately $13,900) and the County would be responsible for installing the generator and all ancillary requirements including; engineering, permitting, transportation of the generator to the Culinary Accelerator, and installation of the automatic transfer switch and required concrete slab.
