EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to accept and appropriate restricted donations totaling $5,000 to support the
replacement of the East Naples Branch Library carpet.
OBJECTIVE: To accept and appropriate restricted donations totaling $5,000 to support the replacement
of the East Naples Branch Library carpet.
CONSIDERATIONS: In November 2019, a donor who prefers to remain anonymous, contributed
$5,000 to the Collier County Public Library with the request that the money is used towards replacement
of the East Naples Branch Library carpet, which is over 20 years old and showing signs of extreme wear.
This is part of a series of donations for this request. In December 2018, two (2) anonymous donors
contributed $5,000 each to the Collier County Public Library with the request that the money be used
towards replacement of the East Naples Branch Library carpet project, and in February 2019, an
additional $10,000 was contributed to the Collier County Public Library, again through two (2)
anonymous donations, with the request that the money be used towards replacement of the East Naples
Branch Library carpet project.
The Library is currently working with the Facilities Division to obtain the necessary quotes for carpet
replacement at the East Naples Branch Library. The Library anticipates completing the carpet
replacement project by the end of FY 2020.
FISCAL IMPACT: A Budget Amendment is needed to appropriate the donations totaling $5,000 within
the Library’s (129) Fund (Fund Center 156112, Project # 46045.1). There is no requirement for a County
match.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This Item has been reviewed by the County Attorney, is approved as to
form and legality and requires majority vote for approval. -JAK
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no Growth Management impact.
RECOMMENDATION: To authorize a Budget Amendment to recognize and appropriate the restricted
donations totaling $5,000 to support the replacement of the East Naples Branch Library carpet.
